Someone mention to me this EFT thing…I have no idea what it is and would like to know. Has anybody who is trying to quit smoking cigarettes tried it?

EFT stands for emotional freedom techniques. It’s like acupuncture without needles and is based on Chinese concept of energy meridians in the body. Stimulating these meridians with gentle tapping, with focussed thought, brings relief to both physical and emotional issues.
EFT works with smoking in 2 ways:
(i) On the craving – you can use the self-applied tapping technique directly when cigarette cravings come up in daily life. Typically people will report greater relaxation and freedom from the compulsive feelings.
(ii) To collapse the associations – various associations connected to memories, past experiences etc are usually connected to the habit. Applying EFT to those memories and associations will help uncouple the association between the cigarette and the anxiety or other emotion that is coming up when smokers feel the need to light up.
Between these 2, most smoking addictions can be handled readily with EFT, and usually faster and more thoroughly than with hypnosis, counselling, or other traditional methods.

The best way to quit smoking is 1 an hour for a while ,the 1 every 2 hours then 3 .I haven’t had one since 1990.
